About Metropolitan Police
The Metropolitan Police Service (the Met) is the territorial police force responsible for law enforcement and crime prevention across the 32 boroughs of Greater London, alongside national responsibilities such as hosting Counter Terrorism Policing headquarters. It is the largest police service in the UK, operating from New Scotland Yard in Westminster and local policing hubs across the capital. Early-careers starters can join as warranted officers from day one through the three-year Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), the two-year Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP), or the four-year Detective Constable Entry Programme (DCEP). The Met also runs 12-month undergraduate sandwich placements within Counter Terrorism Policing across Data & Analysis, Technology, Communications, Change and National Security functions.
