About British Transport Police
British Transport Police (BTP) is the specialist national police force for Great Britain's railways, protecting over six million passengers and rail staff every day across England, Scotland, and Wales—plus the London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, and major tram networks. Operating from Force Headquarters in Camden, London, and divisional hubs nationwide, BTP offers early-careers entry routes including the paid 33-week Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP), the Professional Policing Graduate Programme, the Detective Constable Accelerated Scheme, the 'On Patrol' ride-along insight scheme for 18+ candidates, and a dedicated Work Experience Programme for 14–17 year-olds.
