About the Team
The Airbus Engineering Wing Repairs organization (SRM) provides global support to keep aircraft flying. This role is based in Filton, Bristol, and covers the entire Airbus commercial fleet. The team collaborates on the design of new aircraft to ensure they are repairable and researches new manufacturing methods.
You will work with experienced Engineers across various disciplines, gaining experience in Repair Design, Static Stress, and Fatigue & Damage Tolerance.
What you will be doing
As an Intern Engineer, you will develop core skills in the wing business:
- Static Stress analysis, from first principles to Finite Element Modelling.
- Fatigue and Damage Tolerance.
- Design using CATIA tools, configuration management, and Digital Mock Up.
- Digitalisation: automating processes using coding skills.
- Project Management by working with Repair teams on various projects.
- Business and Financial knowledge.
- Leadership Skills through cross-functional and international project work.
- Customer focus through collaboration with the Customer Service organization.
Requirements
- You must be an undergraduate for the entire duration of the placement.
- Studying or have studied a degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Good knowledge of coding and data analysis techniques.
- A passion for Aerospace and the challenges of the civil aircraft market.
- Sensitivity to client needs and ability to develop good client relationships.
- Natural curiosity and a desire to explore.
