About the Role
About the Tax Consulting Summer Vacation Scheme
Our Tax Consulting business offers companies comprehensive tax advisory, compliance, and transaction services. We assist clients in making informed decisions regarding their investments from a tax perspective.
You will have the opportunity to work within one of the following teams:
- Business Tax: Help clients understand and manage complex tax matters. You will work closely with clients across all industries, addressing their corporate tax affairs and solving their most complex challenges.
- Transactions & Investment Funds Tax: Advise clients on strategic and commercial tax decisions related to their investments. This includes setting up and operating fund structures, buying and selling businesses or property, with tax being central to all investment decisions.
What You Will Do
Join our student programme within Tax Consulting and gain experience working on the tax affairs of a diverse range of companies and industry sectors. You will interact with major global businesses, from tech start-ups to public sector bodies, and FTSE 100/Global 2000 multinational groups.
Your role will involve a mix of reporting and advisory work. You might research and write about tax-related topics one day, and the next be involved in pricing or deals. You could be advising on mobility programmes or assisting businesses with tax authorities. International collaboration with clients and colleagues is common.
Where You Will Work
Deloitte operates a hybrid working model, combining office and home working, to support your development and provide flexibility. Client-facing roles may require office or client site attendance on specific days. Meetings will be a mix of online and in-person.
All workspaces are accessible. If you require further flexibility due to health conditions or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with the team.
How You Will Develop
We aim to provide you with world-class practical experience alongside the technical knowledge required for professional qualifications. You will be immersed in client work, collaborate with team members, and learn practical skills to build a successful career. This will be supported by internal training and guidance from coaches, people leaders, and your team.
We will further support your development with professional qualifications, aligning with different pathways such as Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), alongside specialist routes.
