About the Role
About the Tax Consulting Summer Vacation Scheme
Our Tax Consulting business offers companies comprehensive tax advisory, compliance, and transaction services. We assist clients in making informed decisions regarding their investments and all tax-related matters.
During this scheme, you will have the opportunity to gain experience within one of the following teams:
- Business Tax: This team helps clients navigate and manage complex tax issues. You will work with clients across various industries, addressing all aspects of their corporate tax affairs and solving intricate challenges.
What You'll Do
As part of our student programme within Tax Consulting, you will work on the tax affairs of a diverse range of companies across multiple industry sectors. Our clients include major global businesses, from tech start-ups to public sector organisations, and FTSE 100 and Global 2000 multinational groups, as well as charities and high-net-worth private clients.
Your role will involve a blend of reporting and advisory tasks. You might research and write about tax-related topics one day, and be involved in pricing or deals the next. The varied nature of the work means you could be advising on mobility programmes or assisting businesses with tax authorities. International collaboration with clients and colleagues is common.
Where You'll Work
Deloitte operates a hybrid working model, combining office and home-based work, recognizing the importance of face-to-face interaction for development and the need for flexibility. Client-facing roles may require office or client site attendance on specific days, with meetings conducted both online and in person. All workspaces are accessible, and further flexibility can be discussed for health conditions or caring responsibilities.
How You'll Develop
We aim to provide world-class practical experience, complemented by technical knowledge and professional qualifications. You will be immersed in client work, collaborate with team members, and acquire practical skills essential for a successful career. This will be supported by internal training and guidance from coaches, people leaders, and your team. We will also support your development with professional qualifications, such as Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), depending on your role.
