Water Utilities Team

The Water Utilities team focuses on restoring and regenerating rivers and catchments. It comprises multi-disciplinary water/civil engineers, catchment hydraulic modellers, and environmental modellers/scientists working on river health projects, nature-based solutions, and infrastructure upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis and problem solving: Assess large datasets, perform gap analysis, and scope future investigation needs using historic drawings, surveys, catchment information, and hydraulic models. Collaborate with contractors to specify and manage surveys, including site visits.
  • Hydraulic modelling and solution development: Develop hydraulic models for urban drainage systems, rivers, and coasts to assess flow and water quality. Receive support in technical delivery, including bespoke modelling training, hands-on job support, software, and technical guidance. Contribute to solutions that improve river health, reduce flood risk, and enhance infrastructure resilience.
  • Developing engineering design solutions: Develop and appraise design options through calculations, sketches, workshops, technical drawings, and bills of quantities within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate internally and externally, present work, and participate in design reviews. Views are encouraged in an open and collaborative environment.
  • Safety, quality and excellence: Maintain good records of meetings, reports, workshops, technical reviews, data management, design decisions, and technical outputs.
  • Continuous learning and curiosity: Engage in an environment that fosters learning and curiosity about new ideas, with support towards professional membership.
