STEM Industrial Placement

This 12-month STEM Industrial Placement offers hands-on experience supporting one of Europe's largest infrastructure and energy projects. You will gain technical, analytical, and project coordination skills while contributing to the transition towards low-carbon energy.

What You’ll Experience

• Contribute to a project providing clean electricity for millions of homes and supporting UK energy security.
• Gain practical learning experience supported by mentors and collaborative teams.
• Work on real projects, gaining exposure to major programme delivery.
• Develop skills in technical problem-solving, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to safety improvement campaigns, radiation protection strategies, and condition monitoring programmes.
• Apply academic knowledge to real industry challenges.
• Support Nuclear Operations and the installation of the Primary Circuit at Hinkley Point C.
• Work closely with construction, quality, HSE, environmental, and commercial teams.
• Gain experience with project reporting, digital tools, and operational improvement activities.

Your Work Location

• Based at the #Bridgwater Hinkley Point C construction site or Satellite Delivery Centre.
• Transport to the Hinkley Point C site is provided from several collection points.
• Gain first-hand experience of a live construction and operational environment.

Who You Are

• Studying towards, or have already achieved, a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
• An interest in innovation, technology, and the future of low-carbon energy.
• Must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which ordinarily requires UK residency for at least three of the past five years.
