About the Role
This is a 4-year, full-time Degree Apprenticeship starting in September 2027, based in Stevenage.
Qualification
You will study for an Electrical Engineer Degree Apprenticeship, leading to a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, delivered by the University of Hertfordshire.
About the Role
The Seeker and Datalink Systems (S&DS) department is at the forefront of cutting-edge product development. The seeker acts as the 'eye' of a missile, using RF radar or electro-optical sensors for guidance and target detection. The data link system facilitates communication between the missile and its launching platform. The department also works on RF survivability techniques.
As an S&DS engineer, you will work collaboratively on technical challenges, contributing to advancements in radar and communications technology. You will apply your degree learning to real-world problems, undertaking placements in areas such as:
- Research and development
- Hardware and Software Integration and Lab testing
- Simulation, Modelling and Algorithm development
- Systems design and Requirements Specifications
- Data Analysis
These placements will develop your practical, technical, and communication skills, while also raising awareness of business and engineering considerations.
You will have the opportunity to work towards Professional Chartership with relevant institutions (IOP, IMA, IET, IMechE or RAeS), with fees fully covered.
What We Offer
- Fully funded qualification
- Paid travel expenses to and from your place of study
- Annual pay reviews
- Healthcare Cash Plan
