About the Role
This placement offers the opportunity to learn about hotel operational asset management. You will support the evaluation of long-term asset enhancement opportunities for existing hotels in the portfolio. This includes reviewing capital investment programs, preparing analyses of annual capital spend, and identifying return on investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Annual Capital Expenditure Process: Consolidate and analyse capital expenditure requests from hotels, evaluate capital deployment, and perform financial analysis to identify highest return on investment.
- Budget Presentation: Consolidate and summarise the annual budget for review by the Senior Vice President of Real Estate & Asset Management, presenting data concisely.
- Strategic Assessment: Provide analytical and evaluative support for the strategic assessment of hotel performance (quantitative and qualitative) to enhance property value.
- Return on Investment Analysis: Analyse ROI projects using NPV and IRR. Underwrite ROI projects autonomously and prepare investment memos for the CFO.
- Lease Negotiations: Assist team members in negotiating or restructuring hotel leases with landlords.
What We're Looking For
- A current bachelor’s or master’s student completing a degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business Management, or Hospitality that includes a required 12-month year in industry placement.
- Availability to start full-time employment on 5th July 2027, for a full-time 12-month placement.
- Must have the independent right to work in the UK for the full duration of the placement. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- A genuine interest in hospitality, with preferred knowledge of hospitality finance and experience analysing hotel metrics (P&L statements, STR, etc.).
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Strong data analysis, modelling, and interpretation skills.
- Advanced user of MS Excel.
- An additional European language is useful but not essential.
- A genuine interest in Real Estate & Asset Management.
