About the Role
This is a 4-year Project Control and Planning Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship based in Stevenage.
What You'll Be Doing
You will study for a Project Controls Technician apprenticeship, gaining a Level 3 Diploma in Project Control Practice. The academic portion is 27 months, followed by a 21-month on-the-job learning period.
When not studying, you will work within the Project Management and Control Function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and controlling multi-million pound projects.
- Collecting and assigning costs across programmes.
- Capturing, identifying, and mitigating risks.
- Working with colleagues and partners in a fast-paced environment.
- Gaining insight into projects across development, manufacturing, and assessment phases.
- Capturing updates from all business areas to determine project next steps.
- Training on essential programmes such as Primavera, SAP, and ARM.
You will build a strong network across the business, working with Project Managers, the Commercial team, Manufacturing, Technical, and Engineering teams. There will be opportunities to work with the Ministry of Defence and customers, and to undertake placements within the Business & Project Management team and the Project Management Office.
This apprenticeship could lead to Project Control and Planner positions, progressing to Project Control Manager roles.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs at minimum grade 4, including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science or Technology subject.
- If currently studying, you must be predicted to meet these requirements by the start date.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft applications is essential.
Security Clearance:
- British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
- Successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
