About the Role
About the Scheme
Our placement scheme offers a chance to experience the daily life of a trainee at Addleshaw Goddard. You will be immersed in the firm and its culture, joining a department and participating in real, trainee-level work for clients. You will be supported by an experienced solicitor and a trainee buddy. The scheme includes information sessions, group exercises, and assessments to provide a comprehensive view of the firm's work. Social events are also planned to help you connect with colleagues.
Successful placement scheme participants will be automatically considered for a training contract commencing in September 2029 in their chosen office. Please ensure you are certain of your preferred location before applying, as it cannot be changed later.
The Leeds placement scheme will take place from Monday 28th June to Friday 9th July 2027.

An offer of a training contract following a successful placement scheme will lead to a two-year contract comprising four six-month seats in the following areas:
- Corporate & Commercial
- Disputes
- Finance & Projects
- Real Estate
You will receive tailored training, gain insight into life at the firm, and be supported by colleagues while working on meaningful tasks. The firm encourages curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the development of connections and skills to become a trusted lawyer.
International Applicants and Sponsorship
Addleshaw Goddard welcomes applications from candidates globally. However, the Leeds Placement Scheme/Training Contract role does not currently meet the Home Office requirements for a Skilled Worker visa, and sponsorship may not be available at the point of hire. If sponsorship is not possible and you have received financial support from Addleshaw Goddard for further education (e.g., PGDL, Diploma, SQE course, maintenance fees, loan), you will be required to repay the full amount.
