The scheme includes information sessions with various teams, group exercises, and assessments to provide a comprehensive view of the firm's operations. Social events are also planned to help you connect with colleagues and experience the firm's culture.

Successful placement scheme participants will be automatically considered for a training contract commencing in September 2029 in their chosen office. It is not possible to change the location of your training contract after application, so please ensure you are certain of your preferred office before applying.

Addleshaw Goddard values diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas. They seek talented individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, regardless of whether you studied law or another discipline. The firm is interested in your unique contributions and fresh thinking.

They are looking for authentic, ambitious, and curious individuals who are genuinely committed to becoming great lawyers. A strong drive to learn, collaborate with colleagues and clients, and produce work they are proud of is essential. If you enjoy problem-solving, relationship-building, and taking ownership, this is a place to grow.

  • Final year of a non-law degree, or beyond.
  • On track for, or have already achieved, a 2:1 or above.
  • Applications from candidates with a 2:2 and mitigating circumstances are also welcomed.

Training Contract

Upon successful completion of the placement scheme, you may be offered a two-year training contract. This contract will consist of four six-month seats across the following groups:

  • Corporate & Commercial
  • Disputes
  • Finance & Projects
  • Real Estate

The firm offers a variety of seats within these groups across its offices, providing tailored training, meaningful work, and opportunities to develop skills and build connections to become a trusted lawyer.

International Applicants and Sponsorship

Applications are welcomed from candidates globally. However, the London Placement Scheme/Training Contract may not meet the Home Office requirements for a Skilled Worker visa, meaning visa sponsorship might not be available at the point of hire. If sponsorship is not possible, and you have received funded further education studies from Addleshaw Goddard (e.g., PGDL, Diploma, SQE course, maintenance fees, interest-free loan), you will be required to repay the full amount.
