  • Gain experience in desk-top analysis, site visits, and advising clients on environmental performance.
  • Opportunities in London, Manchester, and Leeds.
  • Requires a Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field.

About the Role

The role will provide the opportunity to become fluent in a wide range of environmental regulatory requirements as they apply to our clients. You will develop the skills and knowledge to assess our clients’ operations and activities in the context of regulatory compliance while also advising them on how improve their performance or achieve compliance. You will undertake desk-top analysis and confirmatory site visits to support our environmental compliance assurance team and our environmental permitting team.

The role will support detailed technical applications for environmental permits, typically for industrial or commercial (e.g., data centre) properties, but with the anticipated increase in opportunities in the green transition space (hydrogen, EV, batteries, carbon capture). Further to this, the role typically provides a mix of desk-based and client site-based activities and will give you the opportunity to see many facilities first hand and to gain an excellent understanding of industrial and commercial facility operations from an environmental compliance and permitting perspective.

Alongside permitting support, the role will involve assessing the environmental impacts of our clients’ products and services across their value chain. This work supports regulatory compliance but also sustainability initiatives by identifying and recommending how to reduce environmental impact hotspots.

Additional opportunities are also likely in supporting the development of client’s environmental and sustainability management systems, and circular economy and resource management initiatives.

Whilst the focus of this role is Environmental Permitting, Management Systems and Compliance, graduates in this role would also be expected to spend some time working within the Graduate ESG/EHS Due Diligence & Strategy Consultant role during their first two years of working at Ramboll in order to gain a breadth of skills and experience.
