About the Role
As a People Intern, you'll spend a year gaining hands-on experience and working on meaningful projects that contribute to real business outcomes. From day one, you'll be part of the team, tackling genuine challenges and building valuable technical and professional skills. It's an opportunity to put your learning into practice, develop future-ready skills and gain insight into where a career in People could take you.
Why People?
Our people are at the heart of how Centrica succeeds. From creating great colleague experiences to helping our organisation evolve, our People teams play an important role in shaping the future of our business. During your Year in Industry, you’ll gain hands-on experience within one of our People teams, taking on real responsibility and contributing to meaningful work throughout your placement. You’ll build your understanding of how People supports colleagues and the wider business, while developing practical skills in areas such as stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision making and project delivery. It’s an opportunity to apply what you’re learning at university in a real-world setting and explore where a future career in People could take you.
Support to help you thrive
We're looking for potential, not perfection. You'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business. With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate and intern programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations and parts of our business.
