TL;DR

Key Takeaways

  • Two-year Graduate GROW Programme in Systems Engineering.
  • Work on meaningful client projects across Rail, Highways, Energy, and Defence sectors.
  • Develop core engineering and consulting techniques, with a focus on Information Management.
  • Requires a 2:2 or above in a relevant engineering or computer science degree, graduating in 2025, 2026, or 2027.

About the Role

Our two-year Graduate GROW Programme supports your transition from student to professional, with client work and real projects from day one. Your journey will be unique, shaped by your chosen specialism and the variety of projects you contribute to. You will build technical expertise through meaningful client engagements and project work, while business acumen and professional skills will be developed through centrally delivered graduate cohort training.

Although there are no formal rotations, graduates are encouraged and supported by their managers to proactively seek opportunities to broaden their experience and support their development.

About the Role

As an engineer joining GROW, you will specialise within your chosen discipline and obtain the appropriate experiences to become a technical expert. Being an Engineer at Arcadis is about applying a human filter to your technical expertise and training, and making an impact through innovation and creativity. During this two-year programme, you will develop core engineering and consulting techniques applicable while working with clients in the UK and potentially internationally.

Role Accountabilities

Our Systems Engineers work across a variety of industries, with a focus on Rail, and also support projects within Highways, Energy, and Defence sectors. We deliver a whole systems approach throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design to handover, following ISO 15288 principles and processes.

Working alongside multidisciplinary design teams, you will ensure all project disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Signalling, Telecommunications, Civil, and Track Engineering) are aligned with project requirements and effectively integrated. This is achieved through robust systems engineering processes, including Requirements Management, Interface Management, Verification and Validation, and Technical Assurance.

In addition to core systems engineering activities, you will support Information Management (IM) activities that help structure, manage, and integrate engineering data across projects. This includes working with digital tools and data platforms to improve the traceability, consistency, and accessibility of engineering information. You will collaborate with project teams and clients to integrate systems engineering data sources with wider project and business applications, driving better project outcomes through effective information management.
