Responsibilities

You will develop a secure understanding of ground behaviour, including response to structural load changes. Your work will span the full range of ground-related activities from outline schemes through site investigation, foundation design, and construction.

You will be supported by senior team members but expected to demonstrate self-sufficiency in tasks such as:

  • Ensuring project work is carried out within agreed timescales and budget.
  • Informing senior staff of important design decisions and company/client objectives.

  • Secure understanding of soil mechanics and geology, with enthusiasm for fundamental engineering and the environment.
  • Genuine interest in projects and understanding your contribution to the wider context.
  • Active engagement with colleagues, valuing knowledge sharing and applying academic learning to practical situations.
  • Motivation and commitment to professional development, including the route to professional qualification.
  • Enthusiasm for engineering geology and the environment, with a commitment to learning and developing expertise.
  • Strong numeracy skills, excellent English fluency (spoken and written), and a logical, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
  • A valid UK driving licence would be advantageous.
