About the Role

The two-year Graduate GROW Programme supports your transition from student to professional, integrating you into client work and real projects from day one. Your journey will be unique, shaped by your chosen specialism and the projects you contribute to. You will build technical expertise through meaningful client engagements and project work, while business acumen and professional skills will be developed through centrally delivered graduate cohort training. While there are no formal rotations, managers encourage graduates to proactively seek opportunities to broaden their experience and support their development.

As an engineer joining GROW, you will specialise within your chosen discipline and gain the appropriate experiences to become a technical expert. Being an Engineer at Arcadis involves applying a human filter to technical expertise and training, making an impact through innovation and creativity. During this two-year programme, you will develop core engineering and consulting techniques applicable to working with clients in the UK and potentially internationally.

Role Accountabilities

Our Electrical Engineer teams work across highways, rail, energy, and water, delivering safe, high-quality, and sustainable design solutions. As a graduate, you will be supported and mentored while contributing to projects ranging from local schemes to major international developments. You will work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and follow a structured path towards professional qualification.

Rail Team

As an Electrical Engineer in our Rail team, you will play a key role in designing the systems that power and support critical rail infrastructure. You will gain exposure to electrical power distribution systems, lighting, small power, earthing and bonding, renewable energy integration, controls, and building services systems. You will apply engineering principles to real-world projects, developing practical solutions that are safe, sustainable, energy-efficient, and resilient. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to design development, technical calculations, site visits, digital engineering, and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Water Team

As an Electrical Engineer in our Water team, you will work alongside our Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) specialists, delivering solutions for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will gain exposure to a broad range of technologies, including electrical power systems, control systems, automation, instrumentation, and digital solutions.
