Embark on a career in law with Clydeco's Summer Vacation Scheme, a perfect stepping stone into the legal profession. This scheme offers a real insight into the firm and how law is applied in its core industry sectors.
It's an opportunity to get to know the firm, and for the firm to get to know you. A final assessment towards the end of the scheme, along with feedback from your supervisor and team, will determine if you are offered a training contract.
What to Expect
- Immerse yourself in the firm and its work from day one.
- Experience real legal work, including observing cases, drafting responses, providing advice, and preparing research.
- Get involved in significant deals, meetings, and negotiations.
- Observe how lawyers provide a complete legal service to clients across core practice areas.
- Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations to witness litigation firsthand.
- Participate in seminars, networking events, and social events with colleagues and clients.

Key Requirements
- Must be a penultimate or final year Scots law student (undergraduate or accelerated LLB).
- On track to achieving a 2:1 degree.
- AAB at A-Level or Highers (mitigating circumstances will be considered).
- Applications are reviewed holistically using the RARE contextualised recruitment system.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom. This programme and traineeships in Scotland are not eligible for visa sponsorship.

- Online Assessment: Includes critical reasoning and a strengths-based assessment.
- Video Interview: If successful in the online assessment.
- Virtual Assessment Centre: Includes a written exercise and an interview.
- Offers and Feedback: Successful candidates will receive offers.
