Cost Engineering Placement (12.5 months)

This is a 12.5-month placement.

What you will be doing:

• Project Management: Plan and lead personal and operational projects.
• Cost Estimation: Provide cost estimates for new aircraft system designs and production, contributing to decisions on the best value solutions.
• Gap Analysis: Analyze differences between cost estimates and supplier quotes to provide Airbus with negotiation leverage.
• Capability Development: Develop cost models, references, tools, and methods.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate findings and updates verbally and in writing to various stakeholders.
• Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in cost estimation, project management, and leadership.
• Travel: Potentially travel to other Airbus sites or suppliers.

Requirements:

• Must be an undergraduate for the entire duration of the placement.
• Studying towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other relevant business or technical degrees.
• Motivated with the ability to manage own activities and work with a multi-skilled, transnational team.
• Keen interest in design, manufacturing processes, global supply chain, and business impact.
• Proactive with a keen sense to learn and develop.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
• Acknowledgement of Airbus vision, values, ethics, and compliance standards.

Security Clearance:

• Subject to BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check.
• May require UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control.
