About the Role
This is a 12.5-month placement within the Single Aisle Structures team at Airbus's Broughton site in North Wales.
What You Will Be Doing
You will gain first-hand experience in operational wing manufacturing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Finance management, including budgeting and project forecasting.
- Shop Floor workshops focused on waste reduction and efficiency improvements using lean principles.
- Utilising Airbus processes and leading projects to implement changes.
- Supporting operations by purchasing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and managing stock.
- Fully supporting the operational production system.
- Assisting the Environmental Health and Safety controller with improvement projects.
- Implementing environmental projects.
- Managing risk reduction projects.
- Stakeholder management and customer delivery.
- Training.
You will also have opportunities to spend time in other departments such as A320 neo and A350 to broaden your understanding of wing production.
Requirements
- You must be an undergraduate for the entire duration of the placement.
- Studying towards a degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing methods.
- Experience working in groups or teams.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- High level of understanding of G Suite (Google Slides and Google Sheets).
- High level of teamwork, flexibility, and a supportive and driven nature.
