About the Role

You will start by spending 13 weeks working as a Morrisons Customer Assistant, before progressing to a 12-month apprenticeship in Bakery. If you successfully complete your apprenticeship and assessments, you could then progress to our Sir Ken Morrison Leadership School. This is a six-month programme, which can kickstart your journey into retail management.

Baking is one of the fastest growing sectors of the food industry. Our fresh in-store bakeries are a huge part of what makes Market Street special. From fresh bread and rolls to baps, barms, cobs, and jam doughnuts, our Bakers craft delicious baked goods every single day.

After 13 weeks, you’ll progress to a Bakery Apprentice. Through the apprenticeship, you will learn about how to make a wide range of breads and baked goods, including product making, ingredients, methods, and timings.

You will be providing a friendly and helpful service to all our customers, whilst you develop through your apprenticeship programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career and gain qualifications while earning.

No previous experience is required. Full training and support will be provided through the apprenticeship programme. You’ll just need the ability to be trained to use the equipment required and to prepare fresh items.

We welcome applications from people at the beginning of their career journey who want to learn and develop.
