About the Role
Audit matters to everyone. When a company shares its financial results, people need to know those numbers are accurate. Audit independently checks company financial reports, so the public, investors and businesses can trust what they're seeing. The landscape for audit reporting is changing fast, with increasing use of AI and other technologies to automate processes and improve accuracy. We need to audit AI financial systems and processes too, meaning the scope of the work is always growing.
What You'll Do
As companies share financial and business results, you'll check the information is accurate. Using proven testing methods, you'll look closely at how these figures are produced. You'll learn to spot inaccuracies and ask why.
Our Audit practice has two core groups:
- Large & Complex Audit: Includes listed companies (corporate and financial services) and their subsidiaries in the UK and internationally, as well as other public interest companies such as banks, insurers, large private companies, and public sector organisations.
- Portfolio Audit: Spans a wide range of sectors including both emerging and large private corporates, real estate funds, pension schemes, financial services brokers and investment managers. This offers the opportunity to work with privately-owned, dynamic, entrepreneurial and high growth businesses, both in the UK and internationally.
Development & Qualifications
- Training: You'll join a world-class training scheme in a full-time permanent role. Our Early Careers training programme provides foundational knowledge and skills for audits and assurance engagements, complementary to professional qualification training.
- Soft Skills: You'll build skills in communication, professional scepticism, decision-making, resilience, project management and leadership. You'll also develop knowledge of digital tools, data analytics and emerging technologies, including AI.
- Qualifications: You'll study towards either the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) or the Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS), depending on your location. These are globally recognised qualifications.
- Catalyst Pathway: Our Early Careers Catalyst audit training pathway accelerates qualification training and professional development with dedicated periods for study alongside structured work placements. This reduces the need to balance exams and work commitments simultaneously.
- Support: You'll receive funded tuition, paid study leave, and access to a strong support network, including a student support adviser, coach, and a dedicated exam manager. The cost of mandated courses, permitted exam attempts, and membership fees will be covered.
