Apprentice Planner

This is an apprenticeship opportunity to support the Transmission Overhead Line Business Unit and Project Planner in the successful delivery of projects for blue chip clients through effective programme management techniques and support to the Project Management Organisation (PMO).

Responsibilities

• Undertake a Construction Management HNC.
• Assist the project planner in the production and maintenance of tender and delivery programmes.
• Attend college/university or undertake online classes as per course guidelines.
• Attend other training as directed by the Regional Planning Manager.
• Undertake self-study periods on protected study days.
• Interface with other departments regarding project activities that may have an impact and ensure these are correctly captured.

Essential Criteria

• Excellent communicator with all stakeholders (internal and external).
• Self-disciplined learner with dedication to complete the apprenticeship and course works.
• 1 Scottish Higher at grade C or above (preferably Maths, Graphic Communications or a Science subject) OR 1 A Level at Grade D or above (preferably Maths, Physics or Graphical Communication) OR NC/NQ in a construction-related subject or completion of a Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering.
• Prospective students without standard entry requirements are encouraged to apply; appropriate construction-related experience will be taken into consideration.
• At least 16 years of age.
• Resident in Scotland at the start of the Graduate Apprenticeship.
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills, working in a team environment.
• Good attention to detail with good time management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentational skills.

Desirable Criteria

• Industry Awareness.
• Full driving license.
• Own Transport.
