About the Role
This apprenticeship will involve a range of administrative and information governance tasks to support the council.
What You'll Be Doing
- Logging and administration of information requests: You will manage formal requests such as Freedom of Information (FoIA), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), and Subject Access Requests. This includes logging cases, allocating them to the correct service areas, and ensuring responses are made within statutory timescales.
- Processing Subject Access Requests: You will review and prepare complex and voluminous information, such as Social Care files, for review by Information Governance Officers.
- Consultation and Information Release: You will liaise with council service areas and key staff to understand information held by the council that is subject to a request. You will gather their views on potential release and consider these when preparing responses, escalating to Information Governance Officers when necessary.
- Public Enquiries: You will handle initial enquiries from the public and individuals seeking advice on accessing information and personal data.
- Record Management Support: You will assist colleagues with the daily operations of the council’s off-site storage service for schools and employees. This includes managing box movements, arranging collections and deliveries, and handling 'scan on-demand' requests.
